Our Story

At Paws ’N Claws, pets are family - and for the Campbells, who have called the Yampa Valley home for more than two decades, that belief has always guided them. Long before taking the helm of this beloved store, they were loyal customers having rescued four dogs and two cats (and counting) from the Routt County Humane Society. Since adopting their first dog in 2009, they have relied on Paws ’N Claws to help keep their pets happy and healthy - support that allowed their first two dogs both to thrive into their 15th year. Their connection to the store runs deep: Eli collaborated with the former owners through his work in local media for nearly a decade, their sons lent their adorable young voices to radio ads for Paws ‘N Claws, and Erin highlighted the business in numerous pet-focused articles as a freelance writer.

As lifelong animal lovers with deep roots in the Yampa Valley, Eli and Erin are honored to carry forward the tradition of excellent care that Paws ’N Claws has provided for more than two decades. Eli brings experience in marketing, media, and event production, while Erin’s background in freelance writing and outdoor industry sales and marketing reflects her passion for storytelling and community connection. Erin truly has been a lifelong animal lover having earned a national award from the American Humane Society at a young age for her fundraising and volunteer efforts. Together, they bring complementary skills and a shared vision for strengthening the bond between pets, their people, and this amazing valley they call home.

Most importantly, the Campbells are here as neighbors, parents and fellow pet owners. Along with their sons, Kaeden and Skylar, and an ever-growing crew of rescued four-legged companions, they are proud to build on the strong foundation of Paws ’N Claws - ensuring it remains a trusted local resource where every pet is treated like family.
